Work Science, Business Economics and Environmental Psychology

The departmental area comprises the three subject areas: Work science, Business Economics and Environmental Psychology, each of which conducts research and teaching.

The profiles of the subject areas are expected to develop partly independently and partly based on common theories and methods. Man, the market and the environment.

The overall aim of Work science is to create secure and healthy work places with a good leadership in an attractive and developing work environment for those active in both the green primary sector and along the entire foodstuffs chain. This aim is achieved by a high international standard of research, teaching and development in collaboration with the actors concerned.

Business economics comprises economic issues in the areas of the faculty, with a focus on the competitive relationships of the branch, company management, entrepreneurship, marketing, and market research that is close to the consumer. The topic is a key area and a profile area for undergraduate education and a necessary complement for scientific and technical subjects.

Environmental psychology consists of research and teaching in landscape-oriented environmental psychology, with the role of nature in the quality of life and health as specialist areas. The Alnarp rehabilitation garden works as a base for developmental work and for research on nature and garden therapy. The common denominator is an interest in the interaction of man and the physical environment, with a special interest in the function of the outdoor environment in everyday life and what it means for well being, the quality of life and health.
